After the War
For some, time is money, for others, Thrash is life. In Morlaix, in 1996, it was on the basis of this precept that François Voisin, aka Fanfan, created Anthares in order to annoy his own and express his emotions in explosive riffs. 30 years later, despite numerous pick attacks, the Flying V is intact and still operational to stir heads that don't stir all over the West Coast and more if necessary! Anthares in your face, one might say, is music without concession or frills, embellished with sometimes metaphorical lyrics (Pro Memoria in 1999), committed (Addicted to chaos in 2019) or totally apocalyptic (After the war to be released soon). Despite a forced pause from 2001 to 2013, Anthares follows a trajectory where compromises are not allowed to conquer the halls of France and Navarre: 1st part of Loudblast in 1999, Hellfest in 2014, Brest in 2018, La Rochelle in 2020… Anthares, version 2023, is Yann and his possessed vocals, Guena andhis slamming bass, Alex with wild solis, Olive with the explosion of snare skins and the indefectible Fanfan to pilot the ship and make his rhythms slam. Anthares, Thrash Metal from Brittany, forever and ever.
